St. Swithun's Church, Kennington

Ambrosden church

The present St Swithun's Church in Kennington was built in the mid 20th century and replaced the nearby original parish church. This was built in 1828 in the style of a Norman building, and is now the Church Hall.

The original church of St. Swithun in Kennington is a rectangular stone structure, three bays long, in the Norman style, with a slated roof and western bellcote containing one bell. The west door is of similar character, and each bay is lighted by a round-headed window.
